Can any bike go on a trainer?
Bike fit: Trainers can fit a wide range of bikes, but you need to double-check trainer and bike specs to be sure. Additional parts: Many direct-drive trainers require you to also buy a rear cassette that’s compatible with your bike’s drivetrain.
Will a trainer ruin my bike tire?
Trainers destroy tires. You can either use a special trainer tire, or just use old tires you don’t want to use on the road anymore.
How does a kinetic bike trainer work?
Kinetic fluid bike trainers create resistance by turning a blade inside a container of fluid. This resistance is progressive and increases as wheel speed increases. Kinetic fluid trainers provide a realistic replication of the resistance a rider experiences outdoors. Resistance increases or decreases with wheel speed.
Is Wahoo Kickr compatible with mountain bike?
Yes! The KICKR is one of the best trainers on the market when it comes to mountain bike compatibility due to the wheel-off design. The KICKR works just as well with road bikes as a 29″ or 27.5″ mountain bike thanks to the adjustable height.
Can I turn my bicycle into a stationary bike?
Turning your bicycle into a stationary bike is great if the weather is cold outside. There are two types of stationary bike stands: a trainer, which clamps the back wheel of the bicycle while the front wheel stays on and is able to move, or a roller bike stand, which elevates the bike, allowing both wheels to spin.
Is a bike trainer worth it?
When it comes to the actual workout, you really can’t go wrong with either. Both indoor bike trainers and stationary bikes can provide high-quality aerobic exercise, as long as you’re willing to put in the work. If your main goal is to improve your cardiovascular health and/or burn calories, the choice is yours.
What is the difference between through axle and quick release?
Thru axles attach the wheels more securely and reduce the likelihood of wheel attachment caused by human error. Quick release axles allow for more flex in the front end of the bike, which hurts handling- Disc brakes can cause the fork arms to flex.
Do I need a trainer skewer?
If your bike currently uses a quick release, we do ask that you use the provided trainer skewer. This skewer is designed to fit snugly into the cups on our trainer frames, which will ensure your bike is held securely while you ride.
How much does a kinetic bike trainer cost?
The Kinetic Road Machine Smart 2 Trainer Costs Less Than $400.
Can a kinetic bike fit on a trainer?
One of the major issue encountered when fitting a bike on a trainer is the quick release skewer or axle bolts on the bike. Skewers come in all shapes and sizes as well as widths. Our unique axle cone fits 99% of OEM skewers on the market, but sometimes it is desirable to get a better fit by using a different cone.
What kind of wheel adapter do I need for kinetic trainer?
From bikes equipped with 12mm thru-axles with our Kinetic Traxle thru axle adapters (shown below) to a variety of cone cups and Small Wheel Adapters for bikes with wheels smaller than 22 inches, we have something for almost any bike out there that won’t typically work on a stationary trainer.
Can a kinetic traxle be used on a mountain bike?
The Kinetic Traxle is our ingenious solution for 12mm thru-axles typically used on newer mountain bikes and now increasingly more often on road bikes too. The Traxle replaces the entire thru-axle with a high-quality, machined aluminum axle that is frequently lighter and stronger than the OEM axle.
What kind of trainer do you need for a mountain bike?
In my opinion, the best indoor mountain bike trainer is a front mount trainer with a free-floating rear wheel on rollers. I highly recommend the Feedback Sports Omnium Over-Drive Trainer. (Link to Amazon for pricing and great reviews)
