How many guests are allowed at a graduation?
As previously advised Graduates will be able to bring two guests to their ceremony. We recognise that the disruption has been disappointing and therefore we are waiving the £20 per guest ticket charge for graduations taking place in July 2021, September 2021, October 2021 and January 2022.
How long is graduation for?
A graduation ceremony can last up to 2.5 or 3 hours. The exact length of the ceremony depends on the number of students graduating.

The SDSU Commencement Committee has worked diligently with Petco Park to provide the maximum number of guest tickets in accordance with physical distancing guidelines and state and local regulations. Graduates within the following colleges will receive 4 guest tickets per graduate.
Do you have to attend graduation?
No, you don’t have to attend your ceremony. You’ll still receive your award, it will just be conferred in your absence (graduating “in absentia”).

Tickets for graduation are provided with your cap and gown order and are limited to five (5) tickets per graduate candidate. Extra tickets can be requested through the Commencement Ticket Lottery, but are not guaranteed to be available.

Students who indicated that they plan on attending their commencement ceremony will receive five guest tickets. These tickets have now been added to your student ticketing account.
